Once your browser has the IP address :

  • Your browser establishes a connection with the server through the IP address. The type of this connection is known as Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and your computer is able to establish this connection through the Internet Protocol (IP).

3. Firewall:

  • The request to “google.com” may pass through your computer’s local firewall, as well as various network firewalls, which are designed to protect against unauthorized access and network threats. These firewalls inspect and filter incoming and outgoing traffic.

Your request reaches a web server, which hosts the web pages and processes HTTP requests.

  • The server that receives the request then sends a response back to the load balancer.

  • Load balncer will also forwards the response back to your browser.

  • This response will mostly include HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files that makes up Google’s homepage :

9. The requested web page is then assembled and sent back through the same chain of components: the application server, web server, load balancer (if applicable), and finally to your browser.

Your browser then renders the page for you to view.
